The Yoga Style


The style of yoga taught in Maha Yoga classes is called Ananda Yoga.

A traditional style of yoga - aimed at harmonizing body, mind and spirit - it is a powerful yet gentle practice for beginners, becoming more dynamic with experience.

Providing an integrated approach to yoga, Ananda Yoga energizes the body, calms the mind and provides a sense of inner peace, as well as supporting personal growth and enhancing awareness of higher states of consciousness. Ananda Yoga is like meditation in movement.

Unique to Ananda Yoga are the Energization Exercises: warm up exercises that teach how to draw energy into the body at will, to increase and focus the life force; and silent Affirmations, which help to deepen the experience of yoga and enhance personal growth and self-awareness.
